Bad Facial Acne

Nodular

Nodular acne is an inflammatory lesion. It's a grade 3 type of acne vulgaris. It mainly consists of pimples that are much larger than papules and can measure up to the size of pencil-top erasers , and may be painful, lasting for months. They may be above or beneath the skin. Nodules can become hemorrhagic or suppurative, and generally show up as hard, large bumps beneath the skin's surface. In a case of severe nodular ace, they develop as multiple tender, red, swollen bumps in the skin.
Do not try to squeeze or pop this lesion, for squeezing or popping such a lesion can cause major injury to the skin at the base and lengthen the period of appearance. Remember that permanent scarring often occurs when left untreated.
