Face with acne

An Introduction

by Rudy Silva

The most common skin disorder from a global perspective is Acne. In America if affects over 10% of the population between the ages 25 - 44. Over 85% of persons between the ages 12 - 25, will have acne at one time or another.

If left untreated, acne can become infected, create scars, pockmarks and craters that remain permanently at the acne site.

If the pore walls burst under the skin, white blood cells move in to digest the collagen around the pores. This pathological activity results in acne scars.

To avoid having scars, an acne clearing program needs to be instituted, at the first signs or symptoms of acne. This is absolutely necessary, otherwise as mentioned above the acne will become infected and you'll be left with  scars, pock-marks, nodules, craters and hyper or hypo-pigmented areas.
